Unwanted stumps, ground out.

Doug has been grinding stumps from Laurens, New York, since 2010. He comes out and looks at the stump for free, grinds it out with a remote-controlled 4x4 machine, and cleans up after, down to topsoil, grass seed and hay if you want them.

The grinder

At the end of 2021 Doug upgraded to a top of the line, high-horsepower grinder, a Vermeer SC552. It runs by remote control and it is four-wheel drive, which makes rough ground easier. Doug says it is the only one like it in the area.

Twenty-five inches down is deep enough to plant a new tree or bush in the same spot.

How a stump comes out

1 The tree comes down
Usually a tree company takes the tree down first. What is left behind is the stump.
2 Doug comes out for a free estimate
Call, and Doug comes out to take a look at the stump and the work site. The estimate is free.
3 You decide how it finishes
Can the machine get to it? Just the grind, or the clean-up too? Should the grindings, wood chips and dirt, be hauled away or left? Do you want topsoil, grass seed and hay? Will a bush or tree go back in the same spot?
4 The stump comes out
Doug grinds it out and cleans up the way you chose.
